Heart of Stone, the first book of the five-part Heart of the Guardians series, tells the story of a farm boy and his choice to become a Guardian. For thousands of years the Guardian’s rule over Dewa has been absolute. Their ability to wield Ven, the very essence of life, their key to power.

In his adventures Jin learns that the world is far from safe. Devastated by the violence that he sees in the world Jin hardens his heart as he struggles with the harsh brutality of the world. Deep in a mountain of stone he must decide not only the man that he wishes to become, but also the Guardian that he will be.

Book 2: Heart of Pain

The second book of the Heart of Guardians Series Jin and Bo’s struggle in the centre of Guardian’s society. It is clear to Jin that the utopian society the Guardians portray is quickly crumbling. A serial killer targeting soldiers runs free, rebellion is in the air, and clear class distinction is forming, and while Bo ignores the issues, Jin worries on how to save Dewa.

Bren is an illegal Empathy who uses his ability to feel and manipulate Emotions to better his own position. His comfortable life of selling Emotions in the Red District is destroyed when soldiers raid his store, killing his friend and former teacher. In his flight from certain death Bren seek asylum in a disgraced lord employment. Thrust into the high society Bren dedicates himself to rising through the ranks, no matter the cost.
